Today in assembly we retold the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The actions we used help us to remember the story in the correct order and Mrs Fiske had drawn some pictures to help as well. We call this Talk for Writing, it will help us write exciting stories when we move into Orange class. We practised writing our names this week using the correct letter formation some of us decided to use other things to make our name. Tommy used the wooden blocks. On Tasty Tuesday we could choose to make either ham or jam sandwiches, we discussed the order to make the sandwiches in and how to use the knives safely then we went off and made ourselves a sandwich. They were scrummy! Perhaps we could make some at home and show you how to do it. First you get 2 slices of bread and spread the butter on.  Then you spread the jam on top of the butter. Or you put a slice of ham in between the 2 slices of bread. Finally you place the slices of bread on top of ea

This week we decided that we would try and make porridge like the Three Bears had for their breakfast. We had to measure and weigh the ingredients, mix it well and then used the microwave to cook it. Afterwards we got to eat it, YUMMY! Together we wrote the instructions for making our porridge and added pictures to help us remember. Perhaps we could make some at home. Finally this week we practised our travelling skills in PE. Mrs Mayhew told us we were brilliant at listening and not using our voices while we worked. We used each others ideas and tried to travel across all the floor in the hall. We found different ways to travel on our feet at different speeds and not once did any one collide. We ended by travelling on our hands and feet.

This week we had fun listening to the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Some of us have been retelling the story in the role play area. We have all been learning a new song which we will share with you at home.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Red class have returned ready to learn. This morning we started the day with some PE practicing our balancing, rolling and being perfectly still.  The Three Bears have set up home in the role play area and the children were able to tell Mrs Mayhew the story remembering all the repeated phrases. Some of them went off to write the story and write letters to Goldilocks. I wonder if she will write back? No photos this week I'm afraid will have lots to show you next week!
